(Wednesday) Today, we are told by our co-teacher, Kru Toom, to teach her two classes (grade 9 & 10) because she will go to a seminar regarding techniquesteaching English. So, me and Dea, my co-major in English helped each other to teach the students the way there will understand us since some of the students are not really good in English but most of them can understand English. We taught them about vocabulary which we took in the book that was given to us (Student book unit 4). When we went to the first class everyone is attentively listening to us. Since they are in an upper secondary level they know when to minimize their voices. They listen and were also able to answer our questions and impart what they know about the pictures that we’re showing them. We also gave them quiz regarding the topic and they were able to answer all of it. End of the first class. We took our lunch at the school canteen and wait for the next class to start. When the time is up, we went to 135 4/10 meaning: 1=building one; 3= 3rd floor; 5=room 5; 4=grade 10; 10= there are 10 sections? When we enter the room, the students were also attentive to the point that the room was so ear-dropping (at least they were answering haha) we also taught the same topic as in the first class but they were not able to finish the quiz because of lack of time (maybe because they were so talkative). Before we left the classroom, one student approached us and told us that we teach better than “someone”. That student might be scolded by his teacher if she finds it out, I thought. The day went well for us. It is not so hard to teach the Thai students in English. We just need to pay attention to them.
